Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal information Piano Art Academy collects, why we need it, who else can see it and how you can have it removed. We collect only what is needed to contact you about lessons - nothing more.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Piano Art Academy is a private piano studio run by Oleksandr Savchenko, PhD.

The person responsible for the information collected through this website is Piano Art Academy LLC, 6316 43rd St E, Fife, WA 98424, USA.

For any question about your data, write to pianoartacademy26@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

When you fill in the waitlist form, we receive only what you type into it:

  • the student's name and age
  • the parent's name, if the student is a child
  • your email address and phone number
  • the current piano level and, if you choose to add one, a link to a video of the playing
  • the preferred format of lessons - in person or online
  • what you write in the field about musical goals

Together with the form, our server records the time the request was sent and the IP address it came from. We use this only to block automated spam, and it is never used to identify you.

The website keeps standard server logs, as any website does. They are deleted automatically by the hosting provider.

3. Why we collect it

For one purpose only: to contact you about a place in the studio, to arrange a first meeting and to answer your questions.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box under the form. You can withdraw it at any time - see the section on your rights below.

We do not show advertising and we do not pass your data to advertising networks. We send a newsletter only to those who ticked the separate box for it - see the next section.

4. The newsletter

Under the form there is a separate tick box: «I would also like to receive news from the academy». It is optional. If you leave it empty the request is sent exactly the same way, and it makes no difference to your place in the queue.

If you tick it, we will write to you occasionally about new books and courses, about enrolment and about places that open up. We do not sell or pass your address to anyone.

You can unsubscribe at any time - through the link at the bottom of every letter, or by writing to pianoartacademy26@gmail.com. Unsubscribing does not remove your request from the queue; if you want that removed too, say so in the same letter.

5. Information about children

The waitlist form is meant to be filled in by a parent or guardian. We ask for a child's first name and age only, because a teaching programme depends on the age of the student.

We never publish a child's name, age or video anywhere on this website or on social media without separate written permission from the parent.

If you believe a child has sent us information without a parent's knowledge, write to us and we will delete it.

6. Who else can see your data

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for advertising. It is available only to the teacher and to the services that make the website work:

  • Google - each request is saved as a row in a Google Sheet on Google Drive, so that we can keep track of the queue
  • our hosting provider - a backup copy of the requests is stored in a protected folder on the server
  • our email provider - a notification about each new request is sent by email

These companies process the data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.

7. How long we keep it

We keep a request for as long as you are in the queue - at the moment that is about three years - and for a further 12 months after the request is closed, that is once you have started lessons or declined the place. The longest we would keep it is four years, after which it is deleted from the Google Sheet and from the backup copy on the server.

If you ask us to delete your data earlier, we do it within 30 days.

8. Cookies and tracking

This website does not use cookies.

There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no social network widgets and no third-party scripts of any kind. The fonts are served from our own server, not from an external service.

This means nothing follows you across other websites, and no consent banner is needed. If we ever add analytics, we will update this page and ask for your consent first.

The links to Instagram and YouTube are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from those services until you click.

9. Your rights

You can at any time ask us to:

  • tell you what data about you we hold
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your data completely
  • withdraw the consent you gave through the form

Write to pianoartacademy26@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity, so that we do not give your data to someone else.

10. How we protect the data

The website works over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The Google Sheet with the requests is accessible only to the teacher's account. The backup folder on the server is closed to access from a browser.

No method of storage is completely safe, but we keep the amount of data we hold as small as possible - which is the best protection there is.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
